Generali Real Estate sets up EMEA region and strengthens investments function in Benelux

Generali Real Estate (GRE), the real estate asset manager of the Generali Group, has announced the creation of the EMEA region and the hiring of Joris De Roo to manage the investment, sales and asset management activities in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Headed by Olivier Terrenoire, current head of Generali Real Estate’s Belgian and Dutch branches, the newly established structure will comprise the operations in Austria, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland. Terrenoire will report directly to GRE CEO.

This move will ensure a better coordination between the local entities, a more efficient decision-making process and a leaner organization in line with the Group organizational set-up.

Christian Delaire, CEO of Generali Real Estate, has said: “We decided to reshape our structure in order to better support the implementation of our real estate business in what has always been a very important region for us. Olivier is a long experienced professional with a great knowledge of these markets, and his expertise will be instrumental in further establishing our presence and finding valuable opportunities there.”

In parallel to this, Generali Real Estate has appointed Joris De Roo as Head of Investments, sales and asset management for the Netherlands and Belgium.

In his new role, De Roo will be in charge of the asset and property management of the current Benelux portfolio, and responsible for its development and expansion. He will report to Terrenoire as well as to Anthony Butler, GRE Global Head of Corporate Finance, on the investments transactions.

De Roo joins Generali Real Estate after a significant experience with two major real estate firms active in the area. A Dutch citizen, he holds a Master of Science from the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (ASRE).
